How long have you had your Montessori school in Eden Prairie?
At Eden Prairie Montessori, we’ve been setting a standard of excellence in Montessori education for over 20 years. To date, we’ve influenced the lives of hundreds of families to inspire a life-long love of learning while cultivating independence, respect, and responsibility in each student. We welcome the opportunity to do the same for your family.
What classes do you offer?
We provide classes for toddlers (ages 16 to 36 months), preschoolers (ages 3 to 4 years), and kindergartners (ages 5 to 6 years). Each class is set in a carefully prepared environment designed to provide students with age-appropriate, stimulating materials for learning and growth.
Do you offer daycare programs for infants?
Absolutely! Our infant program is appropriate for ages 6 weeks to 16 months. By creating a calming, comfortable environment, we customize a care plan for each baby through collaboration with you, the parents or caregivers. Through constant stimulation by singing, talking, dancing, playing, and more, we stimulate learning and development. Learn more about our infant room by clicking here!
Do you offer a summer program?
Of course we do! Our summer program begins every June and stimulates growth through the Montessori method. We expose children to science, art, music, international topics, nature, and more! With age-appropriate activities, we promote an environment that isn’t just fun, but that is critical to development and growth as well. To find out more about our summer program, click here!
What learning materials are used in a Montessori education?
All learning materials are exclusively prepared for Montessori instruction and use. The materials span a number of diverse areas, including exercises of practical life, cultural science, math, language, sensorial, and geography. Our instructors carefully prepare and distribute these materials to allow for self-paced, individualized learning. Find out more about our learning materials by clicking here!
What are the ratios of children to instructors and assistants in each of your classes?
We understand that attentive monitoring is critical to the success of each child. Our classrooms are kept small to ensure your child receives the attention they require for optimal growth:
- Infant Program – 12 infants for a 1:4 teacher to child ratio
- Toddler Program – 20 toddlers, 1 teacher, and 2 assistants
- Preschool/Kindergarten Programs – Preschool and kindergarten programs take place in mixed age classrooms. There are 24 students in each of our 2 rooms, 1 teacher in each room, and 2 assistants.
What is your schedule like? Are you open year-round?
Our Montessori child care program is open year-round. We offer both full day programs (drop off and pick up anytime between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m.) and part day programs from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
We are closed on legal holidays as well as the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and 2 days for staff workshops – a Friday in August and President’s Day.
