Ms. Sarina – Director and Business Operations Manager
Sarina is originally from Los Angeles but has lived on and off in the Twin Cities since 2010; and has worked for Ms. Harrison and her family since 2006. Sarina loves to attend festivals and events in the Twin Cities during all seasons and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Working in education is a dream job and Sarina loves to find daily opportunities to apply her child development background with real life experiences.
Meet the Leads of Each of Our Classrooms
Ms. Xenia has a background in Early Childhood Education. She is originally from El Salvador, and now lives in the Twin Cities with her husband, son and extended family. Xenia has been a teacher at Eden Prairie Montessori since August of 2010 and has created our dual language Spanish-English learning platform for our center.
Fun Fact: Xenia is learning to play the piano!
Ms. Shyami – Nido
Ms. Shyami started at Eden Prairie Montessori North in November of 2003. She holds a Montessori Diploma from Havelock Gardens Training Center for the Montessori Method in Sri Lanka, as well as a Preschool Education Diploma and a Bachelor’s of Science degree. With over 30 years of experience working with children, you can trust that your little one is in good and loving hands.
Fun Fact: Shyami loves to travel and has been such areas as the UK, Thailand, Singapore, the Maldives Islands and the United Arab Emirates (among others)!
Ms. Neelia – Early Casa
Ms. Neelia has been with us since 2010 and holds an AMI Montessori Teacher Diploma from Sri Lanka. She has been a Preschool Teacher in Montessori schools for over 16 years. She is married with 3 grown children of her own. In addition to teaching, Neelia enjoys many crafts such as sewing, painting and flower arranging, as well as cooking.
Fun Fact: Neelia enjoys doing charity work and has a special love of working with disadvantaged children.
Ms. Cheryl – Nido (Infants)
Ms. Cheryl joins us with over 30 years of experience with children as both a nanny and a teacher. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten endorsement and an Associate’s Degree in Childhood Development. She’s a small town Minnesota gal, born and raised. She loves penguins, Mickey Mouse and her cat, Fiona.
Fun Fact: Cheryl is a crafty one… as in beading and paper crafts. And it runs in the family- her mother made the beautiful quilt that hangs in Cheryl’s classroom!
Ms. Shalonda – Casa
Ms. Shalonda began working for Eden Prairie Montessori in 2007. She is originally from Connecticut and her heritage is Black-American and Black Cherokee Indian. She holds an Early Child Development Education certificate and has received training in the Montessori philosophy. Her hobbies include singing and playing the piano. In her free time, Ms. Shalonda loves to spend time with her husband and family, studies the bible and enjoys shopping of course! Her favorite foods include (Tidbils) pasta, shrimp, chicken, crab legs and soul food. Her favorite event was her wedding and her favorite vacation was a cruise to Mexico with her husband Jessie.
